TODAY IN SALES. / GTM + SALES TECH

The Dynamics 365 roadmap is going always-on. Your product pitch needs to keep up.

Twice-a-year product announcements? Microsoft is moving on. And if your sales strategy depends on an old roadmap slide, you might want to pay attention.

Here's the breakdown.

THE BREAKDOWN.

01 / One roadmap. Fewer release-wave scavenger hunts.

Starting in September 2026, new Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Dataverse capabilities are being published to Microsoft's AI at Work roadmap instead of the old release-wave plans.

02 / The transition isn't instant.

Existing roadmap content is transitioning from September to November, with the old Release Planner set to retire by November 15, 2026. Products with established schedules can keep them.

03 / The cadence is now your problem.

Microsoft recommends that organizations build a monthly or quarterly review rhythm, using saved filters and RSS, while checking Message Center for tenant-specific updates.

WHY IT MATTERS.

For sellers and SEs, an always-on roadmap means product positioning and demo preparation need more frequent attention. A feature on a roadmap isn't the same as a feature generally available to every customer. Verify the actual release status and prerequisites before making commitments.

THE SALES AF. TAKE

A fresher roadmap is useful. An outdated sales deck? Not so much. Use the new cadence to bring customers timely, specific value, not a new promise every time a feature moves columns.
