SALES AF. News. Insights. Opinions. Opportunity.

IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said AI could reshape up to 60% of jobs in advanced economies, through a mix of augmentation and displacement.

At the IMF and World Bank meetings, Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam also warned about declining demand for some fresh-graduate roles.

That does not mean 60% of jobs will disappear. The estimate includes jobs whose responsibilities change because of AI.

WHY SALES AF READERS SHOULD CARE.

Sales has always had a career ladder. Junior reps learn the market through research, prospecting, qualification, meeting preparation, and repetition. Those are also some of the first tasks companies are automating. The strategic question for sales leaders is not simply how much junior work AI can perform. It is how the organization develops experienced sellers when the early-career job changes.

THE SALES AF TAKE.

If AI does more of the first-rung work, companies need a new way to teach the second-rung skills.

Same news. Better takes.
