THE BIG DEAL.
SALES AF. News. Insights. Opinions. Opportunity.
AI adoption is moving fast. The revenue impact is a lot less clean.
New research from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, using the 2025 Small Business Credit Survey, found that 46% of employer firms reported using AI and another 15% planned to adopt it within 12 months. Among AI users, 31% reported increased sales.
That does not mean AI caused those gains. The research is observational, and the authors explicitly note that whether AI-adopting firms ultimately realize the stronger outcomes they expect remains an open question.
WHY SALES AF READERS SHOULD CARE.
Sales technology vendors love to sell productivity. Revenue leaders eventually have to prove business impact. A tool can save time, automate research, write follow-up emails, and reduce admin work without necessarily creating more pipeline or closed revenue. That gap between activity and outcome is becoming one of the most important questions in AI-powered GTM.
THE SALES AF TAKE.
“We use AI” is not a business case. Show where the money actually changes.
